Watching the Season 1 DVD of The Office. The British version. I've wanted to see this for a while, and I can now say that the U.S. version would be completely redundant were it not for the talent of Steve Carrell. Other than small culture differences, the first episodes of each show are almost exactly the same.

English version: "I call her Maria Parker Bowles....no, not to her face."

American version: "I call her Hilary Rodham Clinton....no, not to her face."

The two bosses acting style are very different. The English boss is more realistic in that I can see him being a real person, whereas Steve Carrel is a bit more wacky and far-out in his performance. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.

I'm just hoping the American version of the Office gets renewed, or at least a DVD release.
